Shipping

Delivery is by Royal Mail.

We deliver to any UK mainland or UK Channel Island address using Royal Mail.

Orders up to 2 kg in weight are classed as small parcels and incur a £3.84 delivery charge from Royal Mail.

Whilst we'll aim to dispatch your order within 2 working days, during busy periods it can take up to 5 working days. Delivery usually takes 2-3 days from dispatch. Please note that delivery can take longer during busy periods like Christmas and this is out of our control. We advise ordering early to avoid disappointment.

Fit Pit is designed to melt at body temperature. During hot weather postal vans can become very warm and orders shipped during this time may melt and spoil in transit. We will send out your order after the weather has cooled, usually within 7-10 working days.

Additional policies and FAQs

Q. Where can I buy your products?
A. Our range of Fit Pit Deodorants is now available to buy online via Etsy and at our main website www.thegreenwoman.co.uk. We also have retail stockists throughout the UK and we attend fairs and markets throughout the year. Full details of all our stockists and fairs can be found on our main website.

Q. Do you only ship to the UK?
A. Yes, we hand-make our products in the UK and only ship locally to keep our carbon footprint as low as possible. Change the business, not the climate.

Q. What does Certified Organic mean?
A. Certified organic beauty products contain ingredients that have been grown on organic farms. Organic is a way of farming that works with nature, delivering many benefits for wildlife, society and the natural world. Certified organic farmers and businesses work to a strict set of standards. For more information please visit our website: www.thegreenwoman.co.uk

Q. How do I make a complaint?
A. If there is something you are not entirely satisfied with, please contact us and we will try our best to make it right.

Q. What should I do if Fit Pit does not work for me straight away?
A. For some people when making a switch to a natural deodorant, they can experience a period of detoxing, where the glands under the armpits unblock and remove built up toxins. It can take a few days for your body to do this and then your Ph levels to return to normal. But if you find that Fit Pit is still not right for you, just drop us an email and we will sort you out with a full refund.

Q. Have you put your prices up?
A. The Green Woman has kept its prices the same since 2014, but registered for VAT on the 1st February 2019, so all our prices now include VAT, plus a small amount to reflect how our own costs have risen with inflation.

Q. Why has your postage price gone up?
A. Our postage costs reflect what Royal Mail charge, because they have raised their prices over the last couple of years we have had to raise our price too.

Q. How long is the shelf life for Fit Pit and how should it be stored?
A. Fit Pit should be stored in a cool dark place to keep it at its best. In periods of very hot weather Fit Pit can be placed in the fridge - allow to soften slightly at room temp before use. Fit Pit has a use-by of 12 months, and if you aren't planning to use it straight away, keep it in the fridge until you are.

Q. Can I return the glass jars so they can be reused?
A. Yes, we believe in doing good things and supporting those who do the same. We give 30p for every 100ml jar and 10p for every 25ml jar returned to us. We then recycle the jars by cleaning and sterilising them and refilling with more of our lovely products to go back on the shelves. There are two really easy ways to return your jars. You can return them to one of our stockists who are listed here: http://thegreenwoman.co.uk/shop/stockists. The store will give you money off the next product that you buy from The Green Woman, so anything from the Fit Pit or Green Cream ranges. Or you can return them directly to us by post and we can send you a money off coupon for use on our website http://www.thegreenwoman.co.uk. If you want to send the jars to us then please send them back via Royal Mail Second Class small parcel (max height 15 cm, max weight 2 kg) to the address below, along with your name and email address, then we'll send you a coupon for the jars and, where applicable, the postage. Please note that postage costs (£3.35) are only refunded when the amount of jars returned has a value of £3.00 or more (e.g. 10 x 100 ml). We recommend saving up the jars and sending back larger quantities where possible, so that it is more cost effective for you. Please also make sure you wrap the jars really well to protect them on their journey! We recommend using old newspaper or magazines as wrapping materials.

Q. Who is The Green Woman?
A. The Green Woman Ltd is a company that was founded in England in 2013 by two sisters Eve Carnall and Suzanne Carnall.

Q. Is it possible to be sensitive to any ingredients even though they are organic?
A. Yes, it is possible to be sensitive or allergic to natural and organic ingredients. Our Fit Pit deodorant contains a mineral salt called bicarbonate of soda, it is rare but a small number of people are sensitive to it and might experience redness or soreness. Unfortunately for these people Fit Pit won't be suitable.

Q. I left my Fit Pit somewhere warm and it has melted, is it still effective?
A. Fit Pit is freshly made with all natural ingredients and no preservatives, so if it fully melts the shelf life will be greatly reduced. If the appearance and smell have changed we do not recommend continuing to use it. To keep your Fit Pit at its best, please keep it cool and out of direct sunlight.

Q. Does Fit Pit make yellow stains on white clothes?
A. Fit Pit shouldn't stain at all as you use only a very small amount and it is absorbed directly on to the skin. Occasionally people that have used antiperspirants in the past can find their pits detoxing when switching to a natural deodorant. As the sweat glands are no longer blocked they sweat out toxins that have built up. This detox usually only lasts a short while.

Q. Is your coconut oil harvested by exploiting monkeys?
A. No, none of the coconut oil we use is harvested by monkeys, it is cruelty free and suitable for vegans.

Q. What’s the difference between Refined and Extra Virgin Coconut Oil?
A. Extra Virgin Coconut Oil is cold pressed so that it retains more of its beneficial antioxidants, it smells heavenly and is creamier making it easier to apply, and perfect for use on skin and hair.

Q. What can I use your Extra Virgin Coconut Oil for?
A. Our Extra Virgin Coconut Oil can be used on the skin and hair as an alternative to many commonly used products, including eye makeup remover, conditioner and nappy cream.

Q. Is your Extra Virgin Coconut Oil edible?
A. It is food grade, however it is not packaged in a food grade registered environment, so it is not sold as edible.

Q. Which Green Projects do you support?
A. Our co-founder Eve dedicates half her time to projects against Climate Change and Suzanne's 'spare time' focus is permaculture and sustainabilty, The Green Woman helps to support this vital work. A minimum of 10% of our profits will be donated to Projects against Climate Change. Find out more on our About Us page or visit our Blog at www.thegreenwoman.co.uk/shop/blog

Q. Can The Green Woman Support my Green Project?
A. We are always happy to hear about any Green Project, and will help where ever we can. Please contact us.

We are proud to say that The Green Woman does not test on animals and is against testing on animals. We have never asked, and will never ask, any company to perform an animal test on our behalf. We believe animals are precious in their own right and we do not have the right to impose suffering on them for our comfort or convenience. Our products and product ingredients are cruelty free. The products are tested thoroughly on willing and happy humans. The product ingredients are not tested on animals and do not involve animal exploitation, for example coconut oil made from coconuts harvested by monkeys. They also do not include animal products, bi-products or derivatives. Our products are suitable for vegans and always will be.

We are a family business without other shareholders, so we keep full ethical control of what we do and how we do it. We love what we do, thank you for your support.
